Long term policy required to curb extortion, terrorism: DG Sindh Rangers
KARACHI: Director General Sindh Rangers Major General Rizwan Akhtar said that a long-term policy was required to tackle terrorism and extortion in Karachi.

Speaking at Geo News program Aaaj Kamran Khan Kay Saath, he said that the paramilitary force had thwarted several acts of terrorism in the city, adding that there was no area in the metropolis where police and the Rangers could not conduct operation.

The Major General said that terrorism and extortion was two major problems facing the city. However to curb such incidents there was a need to convict the perpetrators, he added.

He said that the issues could not be addressed within a day or two instead a long term policy was required to put an end to extortion and terrorism.

Akhtar further said Police, Rangers, ISI and MI have been working jointly to bring peace in Karachi. He said that terrorism could not stand-up to the state.
