ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry Tuesday said no matter what the circumstances, he had no doubt that the independent judiciary will continue to uphold the supremacy of the Constitution in face of all odds.
“Now no individual holding any status would dare to think himself above the law or constitution,” he said while addressing a gathering of newly-elected office bearers of Rawalpindi divisions here at Supreme Court building.
He said the entire nation is on one page that the survival of the country and the next generation lies in the supremacy of law and the Constitution.
The CJ said the independent judiciary has erected barriers against all extra-judicial steps and now no one can even dare to think of crossing these barriers and running a system in clash of provisions of the Constitution.
