QUETTA: Newly elected members of the Balochistan Assembly have taken oath as opening session of the provincial legislature began with outgoing speaker Syed Matiullah Agha in the chair.
The session began with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by Fateha for the slain brother, son and nephew of Sanaullah Zehri.
Two members of Balochistan National Party-Mengal and one MPA-elect belonging to Balochistan National Party-Awami didn’t take oath.
The Pakistan Muslim League is the largest party with 17 seats in the house while Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party and National Party and the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam have 14, 11 and 8 seats respectively.
New speaker and deputy speaker of the house would be elected on June 4 while leader of the house would be elected on June 7.
