PIA flight operations resume after 4-hr lapse at Karachi airport
KARACHI: The flight operations of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) resumed after remaining suspended for four hours here at Karachi airport on Wednesday.

The flight operations of PIA suffered suspension following a protest by People’s Unity, one of the labour unions of the national flag carrier, over lodging of a case against some of its office bearers.

However, the flight operations resumed after the PIA administration and People’s Unity came to terms following the passengers protest over the issue.

According to the president of People’s Unity, Hidayatullah, the PIA flight operations had been restored following successful negotiations with the PIA administration.

Earlier, all the General Managers and Directors had left work due to the tension among labor unions of PIA, leading to the four-hour suspension of its flight operations.

Thousands of passengers present at Karachi airport had to suffer long delays due to the internal crisis of the national flag carrier. The passengers who arrived at Karachi airport from Lahore and Islamabad also faced difficulties in collecting their luggage.
