Lahore police shoot dead five felons in alleged encounter
LAHORE: The police in Lahore Sunday night claimed to have killed five armed robbers in a shootout, Geo News reported.

The, felons namely Irgan aka Taji, Babar, Tanveer, Mohsin, and Imran were killed in an alleged exchange of fire with law enforcers in Kahna area of Punjab’s capital, however two of their accomplices escaped, said the police.

According to police this notorious band of bandits was accused of violent crimes including the murder of Ashraf Zahid, who was killed during his election campaign for the office of a member Punjab Assembly in 2008.

They added that these outlaws were also wanted for killing two officers of the law.

It must be noted that Lahore police on Saturday night also took credit for neutralizing three dacoits in a gunfight without having to suffer a single casualty of any sort.

This is the second alleged encounter in two days in which it were only the bad guys who took all the hits, which calls into question the claims made by the police.
