Munawar sees conspiracy to sabotage talks
LAHORE: Amir Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Syed Munawar Hassan Monday said there seemed to be a hidden hand that sabotages the govt-Taliban negotiations before they can make any breakthrough.

In a statement issued here at Mansoor, the JI Headquarters, Munawar Hassan expressed shock and grief over the killing of 23 Frontier Corps (FC) soldiers claimed by a faction of the outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

He went on to say that a number of forces were active in the country that did not want to the dialogue process to make any headway and it is their utmost effort to pitch the army against the Taliban with an aim to trigger a wave of bloodshed across the country.

He said the Prime Minister himself went on record to say that whenever the talks process reach a critical stage, incidents take place at the hands of some invisible force, impeding the negotiations.

“God forbid, if an army operation is launched it will lead to horrible consequences,” he warned.
