Three cops amid five killed in Karachi, firing violence

KARACHI: Five persons including three policemen have thus far been killed in different firing and violent incidents on Tuesday morning here, Geo News reported.

Malir SP, Rao Anwar said that two policemen were killed in firing by some unknown persons near Dawood Chowrangi, Quaidabad here. The deceased head constable Azhar and constable Mohammad Azam posted in Quaidabad police station were targeted, when they were on way to their duties on a motorcycle.

Meanwhile, some unknown gunmen killed another head constable Tahir at Balidia Town when he was on way to his house after performing his duty.

Incidentally, all the three policemen killed were assigned duty for providing security to anti-polio teams.

In yet another incident, a man was shot dead at Landhi Export Zone, while one body was recovered from Landhi No. 6 here.
