2 cops among five killed in Karachi

KARACHI: Five persons including two policemen were killed in different firing and other violent incidents across the metropolis, Geo News reported on Friday.

According to sources, a man named Mohammad Arif was killed when unknown gunmen opened fire near Mewashah Graveyard in Pak Colony area. Police told that the deceased had recently arrived in Karachi from Abbottabad and had gone to Pak Colony area after receiving a call when he was killed near the graveyard.

Another man was gunned down in Phol Pati area of Lyari by unknown assailants. The victim was identified as Samad. Sources told that he belonged to Lyari gang war.

Another incident of firing took place in MPR Colony in Orangi Town area where gunmen killed Asghar Khan.

A policeman was shot dead in Paposh Nagar market who was on duty at the time of attack. One of the bullets pierced into his skull and he died during the treatment.

Another policeman was gunned down in Orangi Town no.4 early morning when he was on way to his duty in Saeedabad. The deceased cop was identified as Yusuf.

Sources told that both the policemen were targeted and killed.
