Big names from the global music industry took to the stage in New York on Sunday (September 8) for the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
As well as acts such as J Balvin, Post Malone and Sabrina Carpenter, the evening also saw performances from stars whose chart heyday came in previous decades, including Ricky Martin, Mariah Carey and Busta Rhymes.
Lady Gaga also gave a special performance from Madison Square Garden.
A tribute to Black Sabbath's Ozzy Osbourne, who died earlier this year, was given by Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and English singer YUNGBLUD who performed 'Mama I'm Coming Home'.
The VMAs began airing on MTV in 1984 and became known for memorable moments such as an onstage kiss between Madonna and Britney Spears and Gaga's appearance in a raw meat dress.
CBS aired Sunday's ceremony live.
