35 killed in major accident on RCD Highway
HUB: Thirty five people were burnt to death while 30 were injured in a traffic accident on the RCD highway in Balochistan.

According to sources, the accident, involving two passenger coaches and two trucks, took place on the Bagar Nala near the Gadani Morr on the N-25 also known as the RCD highway at about 6:30AM.

Eye witnesses claim the accident took place when a tanker swerved to avoid a pit on the tracks and lost control, colliding into an overloaded passenger bus on the other side of the tracks.

Witnesses also claim that the bus was carrying smuggled oil in drums on its over head carry rails. Adding that the drums burst and the oil spread onto the road catching fire, which engulfed a total of two tankers and two busses.

Coastguard sources add that the 35 deceased include women and children who were heading for Karachi from different parts of Balochistan.

Sources further add that since bodies of the deceased are charred beyond recognition their DNA samples will be sent to Islamabad to ascertain their identities.

Dangerous Cargo

Experts say the extremely flammable cargo of smuggled oil the passenger bus was carrying ignited upon impact and served as a death warrant making sure chances of survival were impossible.
