Girl stoned to death outside LHC premises over 'honour'

LAHORE: A woman who had married of choice was brutally murdered outside the Lahore High Court (LHC) by her father and brothers.

Police said Farzana resident of Faisalabad had married Iqbal of Jaranwala by choice a few months ago. Farzana and Iqbal were on their way to court to record her statement when she was attacked by her father and brothers outside the LHC premises and beaten to death with stones.

Police arrested Farzana's father but her brothers escaped from the scene.

Police on information reaching the spot sent the body for autopsy and registered a case on complaint of the murdered girl’s husband Iqbal.
