Dhaka Gladiators cruise to 6-wkt win

DHAKA: Dhaka Gladiators recorded their second victory in three Twenty20 matches when they defeated Chittagong Kings by six wickets in the Bangladesh Premier League here at the Shere Bangla National Stadium on Monday.

Chasing 154, the Gladiators reached the target with six balls remaining – 156-4 in 19 overs.

All credit went to the unbeaten fifth wicket partnership of 95 runs between Kieron Pollard and Darren Stevens who rescued their team as it was reeling at 61-4.

Pollard completed his half-century before Dhaka reached their target and he remained not out on 50 while Stevens was 43 not out.

Pollard hit three sixes and three fours in his 34-ball innings while Stevens hit two fours and as many sixes in 38 balls.

Earlier, Chittagong Kings made 153 for six in 20 overs after winning the toss.

Dwayne Bravo top scored with 43 from 31 balls. He hit three fours and two sixes.

Other main scorers were Nasir Jamshed (27) and Jahurul Islam (24).

For Dhaka Gladiators, Elias Sunny claimed three wickets for 17 runs.
