Nisar ties transparent polls to a powerful ECP
LAHORE: The Opposition leader in the National Assembly Saturday said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would lead a political parties’ sit-in before Parliament House over the worsening law and order condition of Balochistan and Sindh, Geo News reported.

“Something must be done before it is too late as it is now or never for both the provinces, where violations have set new records”, he said talking to media in Jati Umran.

He also announced a march in support of a stronger Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

“Transparent elections would be hard to imagine without a powerful ECP. We will walk from Parliament House to ECP building to show our commitment in this regard”, said he.

Chauhdry Nisar added that all the political governors must be removed before the general vote.

On Tahir-ul-Qadri, he said, his long march held no constitutional or legal significance to him (Nisar).

To a question, he said he said he was nothing but his party’s voice and all his statements were mirrored his leader Mian Nawaz Sharif’s thoughts.

“Mine is not an individual say, it represents Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz as a whole”, Nisar said.

He said President Asif Ali Zardari wanted to steal Sindh and Balochistan’s election results but we'd never let him get away with it.

He said if the government tried to install a caretaker setup without Opposition’s consent then they would move the court against it.
