MIRALI: Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Sunday that with loans on a daily basis, the incumbent government has pushed the country towards bankruptcy.

Addressing a public gathering, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief said that as the government was not able to collect targeted tax revenues they were forced to bring three mini-budgets in a year time.

"The current government has taken Rs15,000 billion loans, how can we repay such debts," he said. "The inflation is an all-time high in the country.

He said that there are attempts to change the identity of the country to make the nation subservient to the international forces.
