ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has ordered the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) to stop all new appointments.

During a suo moto case hearing over the selection of the chairman SPCS on Monday the apex court said no new appointments should be made while the case is being heard.

The Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali said that till the court is satisfied the SPSC will not be allowed to function.

Additional Advocate General Sindh argued that if appointments are stopped the entire system will shut down.

Justice Khijli Arif remarked that no system was working in the country. “How could you appoint a chairman who was not capable of the position?”

The session was adjourned till November 3.
