Are apps on your Android opening in split screen? Here are some quickfixes

The split screen feature on Android phones and tablets has proven to be convenient for users but it can also be as this feature can cause issues sometimes.

Users can view two apps simultaneously via the split screen feature.

However, if you find that our apps constantly open in split screen, even when you don’t want them to, there’s likely a reason behind it and there are plenty of ways to get rid of this issue, according to Android Police.

Software update

The split screen issue may be due to temporary software glitches or bugs, which may be fixed by installing any available updates.

After installing the update, restart your device to force close any stuck apps.

Change 'Edge Panel' settings

If you’re a Samsung user and are facing the issue of apps automatically opening in a split screen, it could be because of the "Edge Panel".

If your apps only open in a split screen when opened from the Edge Panel, you can disable it by following a few simple steps:

• Open the "Edge Panel" by swiping in from the panel edge
• Tap the pencil icon at the bottom of the Edge panel
• Tap the three-dot button in the upper-right corner of your screen
• Select Touch and hold under the Open in split screen view

Disable advanced features

Some split screen features in Samsung phones are experimental and can only be accessed through the "Labs" section on your phone.

Here's how to find this menu:

• Open the "Settings" app
• Scroll down and tap "Advanced Features"
• Tap "Labs"

Android Police recommends turning off all "Multiwindow" for all apps and "Swipe for split screen", and restarting your phone.
