ZURICH: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived in Switzerland here on Tuesday to lead the Pakistani delegation at the 46th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting will be attended by over 40 heads of state and government and 2,500 leaders from business and society from 20 to 23 January in Davos, Switzerland.
Security, climate change, new normal global growth and commodity prices, are among key issues on the agenda.
At Davos, the Prime Minister will participate in a number of global events and hold bilateral meetings with key political and business leaders.
PM Sharif arrived in Switzerland from Iran, where he held meetings with the Iranian leadership.
Speaking to the media in Tehran before leaving for Zurich, Sharif said Pakistan's efforts for de-escalation of tension between Saudi Arabia and Iran was a "sacred mission".
Nawaz said he was encouraged by a "positive response" from the leaderships of the two brotherly countries. "We got a positive response from the leaderships of the two countries, who are appreciative of Pakistan's initiative and efforts," Nawaz said.
