China has said Pakistan and India should resolve issues through talks. A spokesman from the Chinese Foreign Ministry said Beijing was well aware of Pakistan-India tension.
The spokesman added China was concerned over the ongoing situation in Kashmir which was a historical issue and could be resolved through talks.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry’s spokesman hoped both countries would safeguard regional peace. The spokesman added that China was a friendly neighbour country to both Pakistan and India.
The statement comes after tensions between Pakistan and India escalated on Thursday. Two Pakistani soldiers were martyred as a result of unprovoked Indian firing across the Line of Control. Pakistan dismissed Indian claims that surgical strikes had been conducted.
