Those coming to stage sit-in will take to their heels, claims Fazl

ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman Wednesday said that nobody can destabilise democracy in the state and that the ones coming to stage a sit-in in Islamabad will have to take to their heels.

Responding to Imran Khan's diatribe against him, Maulana Fazlur Rahman said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) sit-in in Islamabad is against the Supreme Court of Pakistan and there is no justification for it for the matter of Panama Papers leaks was now being heard by the court.

"If a rally or congregation is held in Islamabad, then this would tantamount to pressurizing the apex court," he said, vowing to not let anyone destabilise democracy and judiciary.

Fazl said demands are laid for holding investigations of Panama leaks by the Supreme Court and questioned, "Why not the high court is asked to probe the 'Khyber leaks'?"

He charged the PTI-led government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with corruption of highest degree. "Those asking for Panama leaks investigations by the apex court themselves appointed corrupt masses to probe Khyber Bank corruption scandal," slammed the JUI-F chief.

PTI has given a call for a massive protest in Islamabad on November 2, in a final showdown aimed at forcing PM Nawaz to step down and present himself for accountability in the wake of Panama Papers disclosures.
