Robbers loot Karachi-bound train

KARACHI: Robbers looted a Tezgam Express train which had set off from Rawalpindi.

According to reports, at Bhera Pir robbers entered the train and looted cash, jewelry and mobile phones from passengers.

SHO Railway Police Karachi Division, Suleman Ahmed said the robbery only took place in compartment No. 11. An FIR has been lodged against unknown persons at Nawabshah division.

Passengers recall ordeal

“It was four in the morning when the sister’s shouting woke me up. Unaware of what had happened, I saw her crying while other passengers in the compartment where shouting that their belongings had been stolen,” said Muhammad Kamran.

Kamran and his family were not the only ones whose belongings were stolen.

Miss Uzma Khan said the train was stopped in Bhera Pir area which is not the routine. After being stopped, over six unknown people came and opened windows of the compartment and snatched belongings from people
