PSX oscillates between red, green, closes above 49,000-level

KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange remained in the red during the early hours of the day as investors preferred realising profits ahead of the Panama Leaks case hearing. Renewed buying interest in the later hours backed by attractive valuations in blue-chip names propelled the benchmark KSE-100 index back into the green.

The index closed the session up 80 points at 49,062.26 points, up 0.16 per cent. It marked an intraday low and high of 172 and 507 points, respectively.

Major index gainers for the day were ENGRO (+2.32%, US$6.98mn), SNGP (+4.99%, US$10.70mn) and MCB (+0.94%, US$0.70mn). The index saw an overall turnover of 266 million shares versus 10-days moving average of 373mn shares (traded value $124.12mn versus 10-days average of $166.83mn).
