NAB arrests ex-police officer, son over embezzling millions of rupees

HYDERABAD: National Accountability Bureau arrested on Monday a former Sindh police head constable and his son from Hyderabad, and recovered millions of rupees in cash, 39 tola gold, and 10 cars as well from their possession.

The NAB officials carried out a raid in Lateefabad Number 9 and arrested the father, a former policeman and his Sepoy son, Arif Yusuf.

The NAB officials said during the raid on the suspects’ home and offices, local and international currency worth millions of rupees was found.

The suspects had Pakistani 38 lakh rupees, two crore Irani Riyal, and 745 Saudi Riyal, NAB officials said.

Officials further said that prize bonds worth 1.2 million rupees and 39 tola of gold were recovered, adding that the suspects had 20 accounts in different banks.
