PCB to hold players’ draft for Pentangular Cup on Tuesday

KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to continue with players draft process for players’ selection in next month’s one-day Pentangular Cup.

The draft process for the Pentangular Cup will be held on Tuesday in Lahore, in which the nominated captains, along with regional heads and selectors, would pick the players from the draft.

The draft consists of players who have performed well in regional and departmental one-day tournaments in the season.

Meanwhile, discarded Umar Akmal has been named as captain of Punjab. All-rounder Anwar Ali will lead Sindh’s team. Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Rizwan will lead KP and Balochistan, respectively, while Imad Wasim has been named captain of Islamabad’s team.

The tentative date for the five-team tournament has been set as April 17th.

Last year, the tournament was held under the name 'Pakistan Cup' and was won by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
