Pakistan Super League franchise Islamabad United and WWF-Pakistan have come together to raise awareness about Earth Hour, set to be observed in Pakistan and worldwide this Saturday, March 25.

In a video message recorded from their respective locations around the world, Islamabad United players Shane Watson and Samuel Badree and the team’s empowerment icon, singer Momina Mustehsan, urge the public to become more environmentally conscious and switch off lights for one hour, from 8:30pm to 9:30 pm on March 25 as a symbol of their commitment to environmental issues.

Earth Hour is a global movement organised by the World Wildlife Fund which is held every year to raise awareness about a broad spectrum of environmental problems plaguing the planet.

The campaign kickstarted as a lights-off event in Sydney, Australia, in 2007 and has since spread to thousands of cities and towns worldwide.
