A Brazilian teacher changed her hairstyle to match that of a school girl, who was bullied for her hair.

The teacher, Ana Bárbara Ferreira, said one of her female students was quite sad after being teased by a boy, who called her hair ‘ugly’.

However, the teacher felt the need to tell the child that she is beautiful and doesn’t need to pay heed to what the boy was saying, the teacher wrote in a Facebook post.

Ferreira, who hails from Sao Paulo, also wrote that after the child saw her she came running towards her and gave her a big hug. "When she saw me, she came running to hug me and say that I was beautiful," she said.

"I told her: 'Today I'm beautiful like you!'"

Ferreira also shared a picture of both of them on Facebook, the two can be seen smiling with similar hairstyles.

The translation of the post reads: “Yesterday my student came to tell me that I had a boy talking that her hair was ugly. She was pretty sad.... in that moment the only thing I could tell she was that she was wonderful and that he didn't care what he was talking about”.

She added, “Today I woke up and remembered what had happened and I decided to do the same hairstyle that she usually use. When he saw me, he was running to hug me and say that I was beautiful and I said, "today I am beautiful just like you!"
