ISLAMABAD: In a survey carried out by Gallup & Gillani Pakistan, 69 percent of Pakistanis said the government is making serious efforts in solving the energy crisis in the country.

“Some people believe that the current federal government is genuinely trying to solve the energy crisis, while others say this is all corruption and wastage of time and the government is not doing anything serious to solve the energy crisis. What is your opinion?” the survey asked a national representative sample of 1,878 men and women from across the four provinces.

In their response, only 31 percent of the surveyed individuals said that efforts of the government were a waste of time and money.

A second question polled the respondents on electricity load shedding: “In your opinion, compared to the previous year has electricity load shedding in your area increased, decreased or remained the same this year?”

62 percent of the respondents said in comparison to last year, load shedding had decreased while only 18 percent said it had increased.

The survey was conducted from January 30 till February 6, 2017.
