THE HAGUE: The Kashmir Peace Council Holland (KPC) and Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU) organised a protest here in the capital city to protest Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the Netherlands.

The demonstration turned out to be quite popular as a large number of people from different walks of life attended the procession. Prominent personalities, social workers, and representatives of various NGOs and human rights organisations were also present.

Holding banners and placards, the protesters – led by KPC and KC-EU Chairpersons Zeb Khan and Ali Raza Syed, respectively – chanted slogans against the discriminated policies of Modi’s regime. There were numerous labels the demonstrators had written for the Indian PM on their signs, including 'terrorist' and 'butcher'.

On the occasion, Khan said the Kashmiri people have been facing Indian forces' brutalities since a long time. "We will continue our struggle against the fascist policies of the Modi government, especially the atrocities against the people of Kashmir," he added.

Meanwhile, Syed said the rally aimed to voice protest against Indian security forces in the Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK) as well as the discriminatory policies towards minorities and other oppressed communities.

The human right abuses in IoK continue with impunity and are backed by the Indian government's dedicated political will, other speakers at the gathering commented.

"The Indian state turning a blind eye towards the crimes committed against humanity make Modi responsible and should not be ignored by the civilised world," they said.
