LAHORE: A man, woman and their minor child died from electric shock when low-lying electricity wires connected to the structure of their house in Raiwind Monday morning.

According to rescue sources, construction was under way in the house when the electric current entered the structure, passing through bare-metallic material. Subsequently, 36-year-old Waheed, his wife 27-year-old Rizwana and two-year-old daughter died.

Bodies of the deceased were shifted to the tehsil headquarters hospital of the area.

People being electrocuted by low-lying wires is a common occurrence in Pakistan.

Many areas across the country are exposed to the danger that hangs above them, mostly in form of wires that are used for illegal electricity connections i.e. kunda.

However, recent rains also caused deaths by electrocution as gushing wind and downpour brought exposing wires down, killing those walking on the ground covered with water.
