LAHORE: Ayesha Ahad alleged on Saturday that she contracted marriage with Hamza Shehbaz in 2010 and asked for the matter to be probed in the same manner by the ruling party as Ayesha Gulalai’s.

Ahad has previously made the same allegations against Hamza.

Ahad made the demand in a press conference in the company of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Firdous Ashiq Awan and Yasmin Rashid.

Ahad demanded that a committee be formed to probe her allegations just as a parliamentary committee has been formed to investigate former PTI member Ayesha Gulalai’s allegations of harassment against Imran Khan.

Hamza Shehbaz, however, while talking to Geo News rebutted the claims, saying Ahad’s accusations are baseless and she had made the same accusations in 2014 in the court of law but was unable to present any evidence.

Ayesha Ahad was proven to be a liar by the court for failing to produce any evidence, he said.

'First test for new PM'

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan said allegations by Ayesha Ahad are the first test for recently sworn-in Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and asked will he form a parliamentary committee to probe allegations against Hamza Shehbaz.

He further questioned if the premier will ignore Ayesha Ahad's allegations and maintain a biased attitude towards the issue.

The PTI chairman, himself facing allegations of inappropriate conduct by Ayesha Gulalai, further said the women right activists should support Ahad's quest for justice which has been denied to her for years.

Imran, in another tweet, claimed that Ahad had contacted her saying that she feared for the her and her daughter's life. Imran said it is on the incumbent premier and the police to provide Ahad with security from the Sharifs.
