GUJRANWALA: Minister for Defence Khurram Dastgir on Saturday said Pakistan is ready to work with the United States, a statement which comes after US President Donald Trump revised the policy for the region.

Dastgir added that Pakistan has not been awarded any trade privileges after 2001 which the US would want to withdraw.

The defence minister also said that Afghanistan's war would not be fought in Pakistan. “We have to protect our people and soil.”

Dastgir also expressed hope on the occasion for peace in Afghanistan.

Speaking about power production in the country, he said that 19,000 megawatts have been produced in the country in 2017, which is more than what was produced in 2013 when the PML-N came to power.
