KARACHI: Four people were electrocuted to death, while one was severely wounded in a rain-related incident Friday night here on Jinnah Road in the Sher Shah area, Geo News reported.

The victims of electrocution were reportedly the owners of road-side swings, law enforcement agencies said, adding that they were passing via Jinnah Road when their ride came into contact with a fallen power cable.

The deceased have been identified as Arshad Ghulam Yaseen, Akhtar Rafiq, Sabir Ashiq, and Nawaz Sohara, while the wounded person is Asif — son of Ghulam Farid, police explained.

Residents of the locality, however, mentioned that a complaint had been filed with K-Electric three days ago, but no one turned up to fix it.

"K-Electric did not send anyone even after we filed a complaint with them," one of the residents said.

Condemning the incident, they said the power supply company only sent a team after four lives were lost.
