ISLAMABAD: The conference of Pakistani envoys continued for the third and final day in the capital, with the concluding session chaired by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Thursday.

Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif and Defence Minister Khurram Dastgir were among those present at the conference, which deliberated over regional and global dimensions of Pakistan’s foreign policy and the challenges involved following Donald Trump’s revised policy towards Afghanistan.

Others present in the meeting included the ministers of commerce and interior, as well as the national security adviser, apart from ambassadors of Pakistan from select countries and other officials.

Sources said Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua gave a briefing to the premier and other participants on the country's foreign policy challenges and outlook.

Envoys in various countries, including the United States, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Afghanistan, Iran, and India participated in the conference.

Asif addressed the inaugural session of the conference on Tuesday, where he reiterated Pakistan's stance that there is no military solution to the Afghan conflict. He also attended the second day of the conference.

The foreign minister insisted on the need to highlight continuing human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir on all available international platforms.

Later, Asif addressed a press conference highlighting the conclusion of the three-day moot.
