Three civilians killed in blast in occupied Kashmir

SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, three civilians including a woman, Pinki were killed and thirty others were injured in a blast in Tral town, today.

According to the Kashmir Media Service, the blast took place near a bus stand in the town when an official cavalcade was passing through the area. Indian troops and police personnel, who were part of the cavalcade, resorted to indiscriminate firing after the blast.

Three civilians, identified as Ghulam Nabi Trag, Muhammad Iqbal Khan and Pinky Kaur, were killed while more than thirty others were injured during the blast.

Indian troops and police personnel have cordoned off the area and launched a massive siege and search operation.

Soon after the incident, people took to the streets and staged massive anti-India demonstrations. The protesters said that the civilians were killed in the firing of Indian troops.

Meanwhile, Indian forces’ personnel also launched door-to-door searches in Banihal town after the killing of an Indian soldier and injuring of several others including an officer in an attack near Jawahar tunnel in Banihal, last night.

The attackers also snatched away an INSAS Rifle and an AR-41 Rifle from the soldiers.
