ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Maryam Aurangzeb on Sunday said that the nation will soon send the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) President Imran Khan packing.

"The only National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) that will happen is the nation sending Imran packing," Aurangzeb lashed out at the PTI chief.

The state minister was responding to Imran's recent accusation that the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif is desperately seeking another NRO-like deal by pressurising the judiciary and military.

She questioned Imran's intent of holding frequent political rallies in Punjab and expressed her doubt that the rallies were likely 'a new episode of another protest' by the party.

"Imran should respond to the Supreme Court for all of his lies instead of lying [to the public] every day," Aurangzeb advised the PTI chief.

She accused the politician of gambling away his party funds and the donation money for his cancer hospital.

"Imran tried to dissolve the assemblies in 2014 and left after attacking the Parliament, and it is sad that he has again suggested dissolving the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly today," Aurangzeb said.

She raised questions about the corruption in the tree plantation in KP, the Khyber Bank scandal, and the harassment allegations of former PTI member Ayesha Gullalai.

In a rally in Ghotki district earlier today, Imran had said that the people of Pakistan will not accept another NRO.

"The entire nation will go to Islamabad and protest till it gets rid of the corrupt leadership if an attempt is made to amend National Accountability Bureau's laws," Imran had said.

"Shehbaz Sharif's should not remain under any delusion that another NRO deal will materialise."
