Virushka’s wedding announcement becomes golden tweet of 2017

With people still gushing over the fairytale wedding of Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, the actor’s tweet announcing her marriage to the Indian cricket star has become the golden tweet of the year for Bollywood.

According to a statement by the online news and social networking site, Twitter, Anushka’s tweet which had a picture of the bride and groom was one of the most retweeted posts of the year.

“Today we have promised each other to be bound in love forever. We are truly blessed to share the news with you. This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans and well-wishers,” Anushka tweeted on December 11. “Thank you for being such an important part of our journey.”

Kohli also confirmed their wedding with a similar post but a different photo. It is said that the cricketer’s tweet became the most retweeted post, surpassing south actor Surya Sivakumar’s tweet regarding the second look of his Tamil film Thaanaa Serndha Koottam.

Anushka and Kohli got married in Italy earlier this month. Later, they also celebrated with their friends at a reception the couple arranged in Mumbai.
