Qamar Zaman Kaira's son Usama Qamar laid to rest in Lalamusa

LAHORE: Usama Qamar, the deceased son of Pakistan Peoples Party's (PPP) senior leader Qamar Zaman Kaira, was laid to rest in Lalamusa on Saturday.

Usama Qamar passed away in a car accident in his hometown on Friday evening. He was laid to rest along with his friend Hamza Butt, who was riding in the same vehicle and also died in the accident.

The teenager was a student at the Government College Lahore. Officials said his vehicle was moving at a high speed when it rammed into a tree, resulting in fatal injuries.

Several prominent politicians including PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar, Federal Minister for Railways Shaikh Rasheed Ahmed, former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Chief Minister Syed Sindh Murad Ali Shah, and former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, attended funeral prayers for the two teenagers.

Several other politicians and personalities – including Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif, Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) leader Sirajul Haq, and Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa had expressed grief and offered their condolences on the untimely death of the PPP senior leader's young son.
