Breakfast essentials for you to savour at Sehri

Sehri is undeniably the most significant meal of the day as it fulfils your bodily requirements throughout the day as you fast while also maintaining your energy and blood sugar levels. Therefore, one needs to make sure that the food they eat is not just tasteful but is also full of health benefits. Here are three breakfast essentials you can dig into at Sehri!  

 Fluffy French Toast

Ingredients:

¼ cup all-purpose flour

1 cup milk

1 pinch of salt

3 eggs

½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

1 tablespoon of white sugar

12 slices of bread

Method:

Add flour after careful measuring into mixing bowl and whisk in milk very slowly.

Whisk in eggs, salt, cinnamon, vanilla extract and sugar and keep whisking till the mix becomes smooth.

Drizzle oil on a pan very lightly and heat it on medium flame.

Soak bread slices into the prepared mix till they’re properly saturated and then cautiously put them on the pan.

Cook till they turn golden brown and serve with maple syrup or whipped cream.

Buttermilk Pancakes 

Ingredients:

3 cups of all-purpose flour

3 tablespoons of white sugar

3 teaspoons of baking powder

1 ½ teaspoons of baking soda

¾ teaspoon of salt

3 cups of buttermilk

½ cup milk

3 eggs

1/3 cup melted butter

Method:

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a mixing bowl.

In a separate bowl beat milk, buttermilk, eggs and melted butter.

Drizzle oil lightly on a pan heat on medium flame.

Put the dry and wet mixtures together in one bowl through the help of a wooden spoon or fork and stir lightly and not too much.

Pour the batter on the pan using ½ cup for each pancake.

Cook till it becomes golden brown and serve with maple syrup or whipped cream.

Basic Crepes

Ingredients:

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 eggs

½ cup milk

½ cup flour

½ cup water

¼ teaspoon of salt

2 tablespoons of melted butter

Method:

Whisk flour and eggs together in a large mixing bowl and steadily add water while stirring simultaneously to combine.

Add salt and butter and keep beating till it becomes smooth.

Drizzle oil on a pan lightly on medium heat and pour ¼ cup on the pan for each crepe, tilting the pan so that the batter covers evenly.

Keep cooking for two minutes till they turn light brown and flip to cook the other side as well.

Serve with maple syrup, chocolate syrup or whipped cream.
