Boxer Amir Khan beats Australian Billy Dib to claim WBC international welterweight title

British-Pakistani boxer Amir Khan defeated Australian Billy Dib, a two-time world champion, with a fourth-round knockout on Friday to claim the WBC international welterweight title in Saudi Arabia.
Khan floored Dib in the second round with a ferocious left hook at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah. A few more back-to-back punches in the third and a double left hook from the British-Pakistani boxer in the fourth forced Dib back down to the canvas, prompting a fourth-round stoppage.
Khan was originally scheduled to face Neeraj Goyat in the first ever Pakistan-India showdown in a boxing ring, but the original opponent withdrew after being injured in a car accident.
Delighted by his win, a confident Khan said he wants to face former world champion Manny Pacquiao next.
"We want the Manny Pacquiao fight, let's hope he comes to Saudi Arabia. Hopefully we come back again at the end of the year and bring Pacquiao here," he said.
Among the guests watching the match was former Pakistan Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General (retd) Raheel Sharif, who congratulated Khan with an embrace after his stunning victory over the Australian boxer.
