China supports the constructive role of the international community, including the United States, to bring improvement in the Pakistan-India ties, said a spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Office.

At a regular news briefing in Beijing, the spokesperson expressed hope that the two countries can settle the Kashmir issue peacefully and through dialogue. The spokesperson added that being a neighbouring country to Pakistan and India, China sincerely hopes that the two countries can live in harmony.

When asked about the completion of the Sukkur-Multan motorway, the spokesperson said that during construction the project created around 29,000 job opportunities. “It is the biggest transportation infrastructure project under the CPEC and one of its early harvests. After putting it into operation, we believe this project will play an important role in the economic and social development of the two countries, especially Pakistan.”

China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic cooperative partners, she further explained. “The CPEC is a signature program of practical cooperation between us. China will work with Pakistan to advance the CPEC, continue to enrich its essence and achieve high-quality development. I believe this will bring more tangible benefits to people in our two countries and the neighboring region.”
