BIRMINGHAM: Superstar Mahira Khan started her career as a video jockey (VJ) but quickly transitioned to acting. She first appeared in the Movie ‘Bol’ in 2011 and then moved on several successful television series.

Mahria Khan spoke with Geo News about how there is no difference in acting on the big and small screens. According to her, the difference lies in the script as a series tells a story over a period of several weeks while a movie conveys it in a few hours.

“If I have to put forward an intense performance and have to convince my audience that my heart has been broken, I don’t get another chance to convey this in a movie, while in a drama the story and character arc is different,” the actor said.

Mahira said she never wanted to become a VJ and was always drawn to acting.

“Since childhood, I used to always think that one day I will be on the big screen and have billboards.”

Mahira Khan also spoke of recent criticism, saying she was an artist and was used to this.

According to the actor, she had taken a break from the movie screen and opted for TV series because for a long time good movies were not being made in Pakistan, however, this was not the case anymore.
