Actor Akshay Kumar, who is reportedly very close to BJP and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and never loses any opportunity to heap praise on the leader, has once again come out in support of him.

On Saturday, Modi shared a video of him cleaning the beach on Twitter with the message, “Let us ensure our public places are clean and tidy!”

This prompted a flood of response on the internet including Kumar and Anupam Kher and many others.

However, it was Kumar's reply, who holds a Canadian nationality, which received flak from users for his tweet to the Indian prime minister.

“Hon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, the best leaders are those who lead with an example! Also it is such a great activity to stay fit and at the same time keeping our public places clean,” the Houseful actor tweeted.

“Your leader is Justin Trudeau not Modi,” one Twitter user responded.

While another one reminded Kumar that he is Canadian.
