LODHRAN: The body of a woman who was reported missing less than a week ago was recovered from her home, police said on Friday, adding that they suspected it was an honour killing case and that her husband was guilty of the crime.

Police said they suspected the deceased woman's husband had buried her in their home after the alleged murder. The body was reportedly mangled in an attempt to hinder identification.

Police sources said the husband was detained from Lodhran's tehsil, Dunyapur, and confessed during questioning that he had doubts about his wife's character. The man admitted to killing and burying his wife with his nephew's help.

The body parts had been recovered, police said, and a first information report (FIR) was registered against both suspects. They added that the suspect had been lying that his wife had run away with a friend.
