Cricket legend Javed Miandad said Monday he was aggravated over his impersonator's actions during the broadcast for the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020.

In a video message uploaded on his YouTube channel, Miandad said that certain programs, by portraying him in a “dummy-like” manner, were disrespecting his services for the country.

"I have done so much for my country. I have always supported my country. The mimicry should be done in a decent manner, and my name should not be taken directly as it can can promote a false image," he said.

Miandad was referring to Geo News' broadcast of PSL 2020 in which host Shahzad Iqbal often trades barbs with comedian Mir Mohammad Ali, who plays Miandad's character among others.

While content and programs of the nature are often only meant to entertain, the 1992 World Cup winner appeared to have taken it seriously.

The former skipper warned that if direct jabs persisted then he would proceed with legal action.
