DUBAI: Babar Azam may have become the top ranked batsman in the world, but the skipper must be proud not just of the feat he achieved as his fellow players Fakhar Zaman and Shaheen Shah Afridi have also reached their career best position in the ICC's ODI rankings.

Opener Fakhar Zaman is now among the top 10 ODI batsman of the world and fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi is on the verge of entering the top ten for bowlers.

Fakhar has reached his career-high ranking of 7 in the ICC table after his back-to-back centuries against South Africa in the last two ODIs of the series.

In the previous ICC ranking, the left-handed batsman had jumped seven places and reached the 12th position.

Zaman who backed up his 193-run innings with a 101 off 104 balls in the third ODI against the Proteas leapfrogged to 7 in today's update. He shares the seventh position with South Africa's Faf du Plesis.

On the other hand, speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi has also made gains in the rankings and is on the cusp of entering the top 10 of the ODI bowling rankings.
