Indian television host Rahul Shivshankar committed a major blunder during a live programme as he went on to school a person from Ukraine after he mistook him as an American guest.

In a viral video clip circulating on social media, the anchorperson could be seen schooling the Ukrainian guest, Bohdan Nahaylo, the chief editor of Kyiv Post, mistaking him as the American panellist Daniel McAdams, who is the executive director of the Ron Paul Institute.

During the interview, Shivshankar instructed McAdams to "take a chill pill" and then went on a tirade for a one-and-a-half minute, saying that if "Mr McAdams" was "so concerned about Ukraine", he should "get off the fence, send his forces and put boots on the ground" instead of "lecturing us in India".

He constantly schooled him for his "colonial agendas," meanwhile, Bohdan Nahaylo could be seen constantly telling him that he is addressing the wrong person; however, the host continued to yell at him.

Meanwhile, the real McAdams could be seen sitting perplexed, unable to understand what exactly was happening around.

McAdams cut in at this point.

"Dear host, I have not said a word yet. I don't know why you're yelling at me," McAdams said.

Shivshankar said: "I'm not yelling at you. I'm talking about Mr McAdams."

"I am Mr McAdams!" McAdams shouted.

The video clip went viral within a short span of time and garnered massive views on the social media platform.

Brussels bureau chief for The Economist wrote on Twitter: "This is magnificent. It makes no sense until it makes perfect sense. Nobody outside Indian TV can produce this level of chaos."

Renowned Pakistani journalist Kamran Yousaf also shared the video saying "this is truly epic, Indian TV journalism at its best!!!"

Another Twitter user wrote: "This is so ridiculously funny. There is something terribly wrong with Indian TV anchors!"
