KARACHI: The temperature is expected to climb to 39°C in Karachi from today till March 27, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said on Friday.

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz said that there is low pressure near Iran and western Afghanistan, while excess air pressure has been building near eastern Afghanistan.

“Due to the low and high pressure, the direction of winds in Karachi is changing,” he said, adding that the heat will subside on March 28 or 29.

The PMD chief further warned that a heatwave is also expected in various areas of Sindh from March 30 to April 4. During this period, the temperature is expected to stay within 40°C to 42°C.
