Pakistan cricketer Hasan Ali — who is currently in England for County Championship 2022 — was invited by the Lancashire County Cricket Club for an iftar ceremony along with the Muslim community of Lancashire.

The seamer also held a practice session with young cricketers of Lancashire. He shared tips and his experience with them.

The participants belonged to three different clubs including Old Trafford Kings Cricket Club, Old Trafford Cricket Club and Bengali Cricket Club.

Following the cricket session, Hasan broke his fast and offered prayers in the indoor practice area of Old Trafford Cricket Ground.

The bowler, while sharing his experience said: "This is a very good initiative from Lancashire Cricket to involve the local Muslim community and particularly children. There is a lot of talent and enthusiasm for cricket on display and a lot of future players. It is a very nice moment for me to be able to spend time with them here."

Earlier, England Cricket Board also held an iftar ceremony at Lord's cricket ground where the Muslim community was invited. For the very first time, Adhan (Islamic call to prayer) was called on the historic balcony of Lord's Cricket Ground. England’s World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan was also among the attendees in the iftar ceremony.

Such gatherings would not only help bring different religious communities closer to each other but will also educate people about Islam and minimise Islamophobia in the country.
