WATCH: Woman grows 42-feet fingernails after family tragedy

A woman from Minnesota, the United States, has set the record for the world’s longest fingernails (female), reported Guinness World Records.

Diana Armstrong stopped cutting her nails 25 years ago after her daughter passed away.

Armstrong has been growing her nails for the last 25 years. On March 13 2022, her fingernails measured 1306.58cm.

In 1997, her 16-year-old daughter died in her sleep during an asthma attack. Her daughter helped Armstrong maintain her long nails.

"She was the only one who did my nails," she said.

After the daughter's death, she was unable to trim her nails despite her children trying to convince her. 

"My kids said 'Ma, you need to cut your nails.' I would tell them 'Mind your business.'"

Later, the children became supportive and helped her through the process.
