Banks holiday, Ramazan timings notice
KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), all offices of SBP Banking Services Corporation (SBP BSC), banks, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) and Microfinance Banks (MFBs) will remain closed for public dealings (bank holiday) on Monday July 23, 2012 for deduction of Zakat because 1st Ramazan-ul-Mubarak will either fall on Saturday or Sunday (subject to sighting of moon) as these days are observed as two-day weekly offs by above mentioned institutions.

However, all officers, staff of SBP, SBP BSC, banks, DFIs, MFBs will attend their offices on Monday treating it as a normal working day (except for public dealings), SBP press release said Tuesday.

Banking hours for Ramazan-ul-Mubarak

All banks, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), Microfinance Banks (MFBs) and field offices of SBP Banking Services Corporation (SBP BSC) will observe business (banking) hours from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (without break) from Monday to Thursday during Ramazan-ul-Mubarak. Their Friday business timings will be from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. (without break).

However, SBP, SBP BSC, banks, DFIs and MFBs will observe office hours from 8.30 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. (with 15 minutes prayer break from 1.30 p.m. to 1.45 p.m.) from Monday to Thursday during Ramazan-ul-Mubarak. Their Friday office timings will be from 8.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. (without break).
