LAHORE: The martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA), was observed on Friday in the provincial capital with due reverence and respect.
Several organisations held majalis in which Zakireen paid glowing tribute to Hazrat Ali (RA) and highlighted various aspects of his life.
In this regard a Tazia procession was taken out from Mubarik Haveli inside Mochi Gate which after passing through Bazaar Hakiman, Paniwala Talab, Rang Mehal, and Bhatti Chowk culminated peaceful at Karbala Gamay Shah near Lower Mall.
Meanwhile, law and order situation remained peaceful in the provincial capital due to tight security arrangements made by Lahore Police on the Youm-e-Shahadat of Hazrat Ali (RA).
Over 2000 police officials were deputed along the route of main procession to avoid any untoward incident. Senior police officers also visited route of the central procession and checked the duties of officials deputed there.
Bomb disposal squad, Rescue 1122 and other rescue teams remained high alert till the end of procession.
